Merit awards, need-based bursaries, sponsored scholarships, and emergency support — making quality higher education accessible.

Scholarships at Azione Verde University

Azione Verde University is committed to ensuring that no qualified student is denied access to higher education because of financial need. We provide a number of scholarship and bursary support channels to recognise academic excellence, ease financial hardship, and reward community service.

Types of support available

  • Merit-based scholarships — awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance in their UTME, Post-UTME, and end-of-session results.
  • Need-based bursaries — for students from low-income households who can demonstrate genuine financial hardship.
  • Sponsored scholarships — funded by external donors, faith-based organisations, alumni, and corporate partners.
  • Grants — non-repayable awards for specific categories of students (e.g. orphans, persons with disabilities, internally displaced persons).
  • Emergency support — short-term financial assistance for students facing unforeseen hardship during a session.

Eligibility

To be considered for any AVU scholarship or bursary, applicants must:

  1. Have applied for and been offered admission to AVU (or be a currently enrolled student in good academic standing).
  2. Have a minimum CGPA of 3.0/5.0 for merit-based awards; need-based applicants must demonstrate household income below the Bursary committee's published threshold.
  3. Submit all required supporting documents before the published deadline (incomplete applications will not be considered).
  4. Not be a beneficiary of another full scholarship from a third party covering tuition, accommodation, and feeding for the same session.
  5. Be willing to participate in a verification interview where requested by the Scholarship Committee.
